Rushin' Car Service

When it came to starting the brainstorming and designing phase of my Senior thesis project, I went into the mindset of what part of car culture I wanted to highlight. That allowed my imagination to go anywhere it wanted to. The first one I was able to nail down was the subculture of the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car world; and that is the culture of the V.I.P sedans. This is all started in the late 80's due to the three major automotive manufactures from Japan producing their four door sedans to provide comfortable transportation and convience for families. However, with a heavy prescense of the Yakuza (Japanese Mafia) back then and even today in Japan, these sedans became primary transportation and privacy for them as well. Like everything in the world, it is going to turn into a trend of its own and gain a subculture attached to it. That then segwayed into american car cultures as well as the rest of the world gaining a love for these executive sedans. This design was made to celebrate how even the prescense of a mafia can influence another way of life in a more positive manner.
